A new Community Association
After
many months of planning and preparation, CAWH has put together a successful
proposal to Camden. We have included all the services that you
expect from your community association. These are a selection of these:
Café, Parents get-together, Intergenerational/multicultural social
groups, Keep fit, Dance, Creative writing/music, Employment
initiatives, Adult education and training, Youth work and play schemes,
Volunteering, Older people's activities, pottery, scouts, under 5s,
ballet, WHeart, SureStart. Councillors have their surgery in the café
on alternate Saturdays, and, of course, by contacting Jeffrey Hopwood
of Camden, community groups may now book the hall. - Please send us
your email address so that we can keep you up to date.
We are delighted to tell you that CAWH has been awarded funding from Camden Council to set up a new community centre. Work is ongoing.
CAWH has been offered temporary premises in the former community centre
at 60-62 Mill Lane, but these are to be sold sometime soon, and we
will then move into Broomsleigh St Community Hall. We will share the
Hall with Sington Nursery until their new premises are built.
We hope to run a full range of activities soon. If you have
any ideas for activities, would like to offer to run a group, or if you
wish to volunteer, please let us know on info@cawh.org.uk.
We have now recruited a manager and administrator for the Association. Please telephone 020-7794 3729 for details.
